Complete Commercial Technology Upgrade
Shannon’s Auto Body is not just a high-volume repair facility—it’s a bustling ecosystem of logistics, craftsmanship, and customer service. When the company expanded its footprint, they turned to Digital Horizons for a comprehensive technology overhaul. The result is a fully integrated commercial space that balances security, communication, efficiency, and aesthetics—all designed to make operations smoother for employees and more comfortable for guests.
At the core of the upgrade was a unified security and door access system. Using PDK for access control and integrating it seamlessly with the alarm system, Shannon’s eliminated the need for traditional keys while enabling granular control over who can access the facility—and when. From early-morning vendor deliveries to streamlined employee onboarding, the system manages schedules and user permissions with ease. And thanks to remote accessibility, administrators can monitor and modify access from anywhere in the world in seconds.
Surveillance cameras were deployed strategically throughout the property to cover four critical areas: asset protection, customer vehicle monitoring, workflow visibility, and liability protection. High-resolution camera views allow staff to quickly locate vehicles on the production floor, saving time and keeping projects on schedule. In the event of an incident—be it a fender bender in the lot or a workplace injury—footage can be reviewed, archived, and used for both claims and training.
Two conference rooms and one additional training space were outfitted to enhance internal collaboration and external communication. The general manager’s conference room features dual displays, ceiling-mounted microphones, in-ceiling speakers, and a full video conferencing system—all operable via an intuitive RTI keypad. The larger training room includes a ceiling-recessed, tab-tensioned projection screen, high-quality in-ceiling audio, and a camera system for remote participation. All equipment was housed neatly in adjacent storage, maximizing floor space and keeping the environment clutter-free.
Beyond the boardroom, Digital Horizons extended smart tech throughout the facility. On the production floor, five 85-inch wall-mounted displays—each paired with a dedicated laptop—give team members live insights into work orders, status updates, and scheduling needs. Overhead speakers play music throughout the space to reduce noise fatigue and add energy to the workday. In the lobby, multiple TVs and in-ceiling speakers provide entertainment and information for waiting customers, with simple source control for staff at the front desk.
What began as a traditional AV install quickly evolved into a full-scale commercial technology upgrade. From door access to digital signage, from live production tracking to recordable training sessions, Shannon’s Auto Body now operates on a foundation of intuitive, integrated systems—designed to keep their team productive, their customers informed, and their facility secure.
