This one-of-a-kind game room redefines what a recreational space can be—combining entertainment, automation, and smart infrastructure into a dynamic environment designed for relaxation, gaming, and hosting. From golf swings to streaming football games, the space is both functional and fun, and Digital Horizons was involved from the very beginning to ensure that every layer of technology was seamlessly integrated into the experience.

The main interior space features a fully outfitted Kitchen and dining area adjacent to a multi-use golf simulator. This simulator also doubles as a digital hunting platform, offering an immersive experience for all ages. During construction, our team assisted with all low-voltage rough-ins, conduit layout, and wiring back to a centralized mechanical room where the core of the AV system would be installed. This careful early planning ensured that the space would be flexible, future-ready, and visually clean.

In the Kitchen, we installed two displays—a 75” primary TV and a secondary 55” screen—both connected to a video distribution system. This system allows for maximum flexibility, enabling content from a cable box, Apple TV, or the golf simulator computer to be routed to any combination of the Kitchen TVs or the simulator projector. Whether it’s a football game playing across all screens or split content for multi-activity use, the system adapts on command to the homeowner’s preferences.

To complement the visual setup, we deployed a distributed audio system that covers every corner of the structure. In-ceiling speakers were installed in the Kitchen and golf simulator area, while surface-mounted speakers were added in the adjacent shop and exterior patio space. These zones can be controlled independently, allowing for music or TV audio to play in one or multiple areas simultaneously—offering both ambiance and entertainment throughout the building.

Because the internet connection originates several hundred feet away in the main residence, we worked with the builder to run conduit between the two structures. Using a combination of networking gear and WiFi access points, we were able to extend the primary internet connection into the game room and its surrounding outdoor areas. This eliminated the need for a second internet subscription, delivering reliable, high-speed WiFi while saving the homeowner money over time.

Rounding out the system, we installed a set of strategically placed surveillance cameras. The building’s position on the property offered optimal coverage of the main driveway and nearby grounds, as well as useful perspectives back toward the main house. All video is motion-triggered and stored on a dedicated recorder. Control of the entire system—from TVs and audio to cameras and lighting—is handled through the Control4 platform, with a 10” in-wall touchscreen serving as the primary interface. Additional handheld remotes and mobile device access via the Control4 app ensure full control is always within reach.
