This lakeside home, designed and built by Baratto Brothers, blends elegant architectural finishes with discreet, state-of-the-art technology—creating a modern retreat that’s as intelligent as it is beautiful. Digital Horizons was brought in to design and install a full suite of smart home technologies, all unified through a Control4 automation platform. From distributed audio to immersive entertainment systems, the entire experience is streamlined, reliable, and simple to use.

In the main level Living Room, a Samsung Frame TV was installed above the fireplace to maintain a gallery-like aesthetic when not in use. The television’s One Connect Box was routed through pre-installed conduit to nearby cabinetry, eliminating visible equipment and allowing the Frame TV to appear truly seamless on the wall. Whether displaying digital artwork or streaming a movie, the technology fades into the background until it’s needed—just as it should.

The lower-level Family Room was outfitted with a more robust entertainment setup, featuring a 77″ Sony OLED television paired with a 5.1 surround sound system. A sleek soundbar mounted below the screen provides front-channel audio, while an in-room subwoofer and a pair of in-ceiling speakers deliver immersive surround effects. All source components were cleanly housed in cabinetry below the display, with all wiring run in-wall for a polished, cable-free finish. A custom-programmed Control4 remote allows for intuitive control—no instruction manual required.

To extend the audio experience throughout the home, in-ceiling speakers were installed in the Kitchen, Master Bathroom, and Patio. Connected to the home’s WiFi network, these speakers provide seamless access to streaming music services like Spotify and Pandora. Homeowners can easily select their favorite playlists, adjust volume, or group rooms together—all from the Control4 app on their phone or tablet.

All equipment was centrally located in the home’s mechanical room, neatly organized in a professional-grade equipment rack. Every cable was labeled, routed, and harnessed to ensure a clean and serviceable infrastructure. This thoughtful installation approach not only supports current needs but also makes future upgrades or maintenance simple and efficient.
