The Cedar Glen Retreat

The Cedar Glen Retreat was built and designed by Nor-Son Construction. A whole-house technology system was installed, all of which was integrated into the Control4 platform to ensure simple operation.

Televisions throughout the home and their corresponding audio systems were connected to a “video distribution system,” allowing for A/V devices such as AppleTVs, satellite receivers, and Blu-ray players to be called up and routed to the TVs on an on-demand basis. Speakers throughout the home have the ability to playback a myriad of online music sources, such as Pandora, Spotify, and more.

Surveillance cameras provide visual protection and a home security system provides building and occupant safety and wellness verification.

The lower level provides a dedicated movie watching spot with a 75” Sony TV installed in a custom recess near the fireplace, along with a 5.1 surround sound system, including an in-wall subwoofer.

Whole-house lighting control provides the ability for custom lighting scenes to be executed, such as “Welcome Home,” “Goodnight,” or “Midnight Snack.” Lights can also flash when the security system is triggered, or blink in sequence to verify the security system has been armed or disarmed.

Through numerous Control4 interfaces – such as hand-held remotes, wireless touch panels, and a phone/tablet app – family and guests have access to this simple to use system from anywhere inside or outside the home.
